De regresso por uma terceira vez à Rebenta Bois, para aproveitar as boas condições atmosféricas desta entrada do Outono, vamos aprofundar a relação energética entre os nossos corpos alargada  aos elementos do ambiente da praia. Desta vez incluindo também a relação com a lama, já que numa parte da praia caiu recentemente um pedaço da falésia devido à erusão.

Returning for a third time to Rebenta Bois, taking advantage of the splendid weather conditions at the beginning of Autumn, we are going to get in more depth in to the energetic interaction within and amongst our bodies and the elements of the beach environment. This time including also the relation  with the mud. There was recently a mudslide in one part of the beach.

Isabel Valverde é coreógrafa e performer transdisciplinar praticante de Contacto Improvisação há mais de 15 anos em Amesterdão, São Francisco, Los Angeles e Lisboa. Licenciada em Dança pela FMH/UTL, completa a School for New Dance Development, SNDD/AHK, Amesterdão (Bolsa ERASMUS) (1991), onde estuda Improvisação, Contacto Improvisação, Técnica de Alexander, Release and Alignment, Body-Mind Centering, e Hands-On, com Simone Forti, Mary Fulkerson, John Rolland, Pauline de Groot, Kirstie Simson, Susan Rethorst, Cathy Weis, Karen Bernard, Trude Cone, Ria Higler, entre outros. Na Califórnia (1996-2005) trabalha com K.J. Holmes, Kirk Andrews, Mary Herzog, Teri Carter, Sten Rudstorm, Seth Leon, Jacqueline Shea Murphy, e outros, em CI, Teatro Físico, Iyengar Yoga e Tai Chi, enquanto realiza mestrado em Inter-Artes, SFSU (Bolseira Fulbright), e doutoramento em História e Teoria da Dança, U.C.RIverside (Bolseira FCT/PRAXIS XXI). Desenvolve Pós-Doutoramento em Dança e Tecnologia (BPD/FCT/POTCI) afiliada ao Centro de Artes e Tecnologias/Instituto de Humanidades e Ciências Inteligentes, no Grupo de Visualização e Interfaces Multimodais Inteligentes, VIMMI/INESC-ID e FCSH/UNL. Co-fundadora da Contacto Improvisação Lisboa Jam (2006).

"The Underscore is a framework for practicing and researching dance improvisation that I've been developing since the early 1990s.  It is a score that guides dancers through a series of 'changing states,' from solo deepening/releasing to sensitizing to gravity and support; through group circulation and interaction, Contact Improvisation engagements, opening out to full group improvisation with compositional awareness, and back to rest and reflection.
The Underscore can be seen as a vehicle for incorporating Contact Improvisation into a broader arena of improvisational practice; for developing greater ease dancing in spherical space - alone and with others; and for integrating kinesthetic and compositional concerns while improvising.  The Underscore is also being used in the CI community worldwide as a way to focus and concentrate Contact jams."  Nancy Stark Smith, "Caught Falling"

Juntos iremos dançar com a Nancy Stark-Smith e o Mike Vargas  que vão liderar o evento em Chicago.

BETH ERLANDER

Hi, my name is Beth Erlander and I am an Art and Play Therapist who works with kids of all ages. I have been doing Contact Improv since 1996 and have co-taught CI briefly in Denver and have recently co-led some blindfold CI jams. I attend the Boulder Contact Lab almost every Sunday where we state an intention to focus our dances and dialogue is encouraged. To see more about this please look up Guidelines-Boulder Contact Lab on the web. I am also bringing a copy of the guidelines to share. Currently, I am becoming a “somanaut” which means I am in a training about body-mind centered psychology where we become like astronauts and journey into the body. If you want to know more please check out my teacher and mentor's website www.anniebrook.com. I have been using my new acquired skills to help people slow down and connect to themselves, others and to the ground.

This jam will start by learning how to yield into the ground, the partner that is always there for us. After we connect to the floor/ground we will explore all our end points and begin to move and discover those around us. We will then learn how to yield with another and begin our dancing dialogue. I am happy to come to Portugal and to learn from you and your contact group.

Jam Multimédia Faculdade de Motricidade Humana,  Ginásio B, Estrada da Costa Cruz Quebrada, Portugal Sábado/Saturday 21.05.11, 5h30-8h30pm (GMT) 5h30-6h30 Warm up (Isabel Valverde) 6h30-8h30 JAM Após a Jam magnífica na praia, esta semana a Jam viaja até à FMH/Faculdade de Motricidade Humana na Cruz-Quebrada, no âmbito do 4º Encontro dos Licenciados em Dança e realiza-se no Sábado. Vamos prosseguir com a abertura das percepções, principalmente a cinestésica, visual e auditiva, progredindo de um foco interno e de relação próxima para um foco cada vez mais alargado e múltiplo. A expansão perceptiva incluirá a interacção com som/música ao vivo e imagens em tempo-real da jam e de outros ambientes. SEJAM BEM-VINDOS!!! Direcções de Lisboa: Apanhar o Comboio no Cais do Sodré com direccção a Cascais (paragem em todas as estações) e descer na Estação da Cruz Quebrada. Seguir em direcção ao fundo da Estação, descer as escadas e por baixo da ponte ao lado do rio até às escadas. A Estrada da Costa fica à direita do cruzamento. Seguir para cima até à FMH, cerca de 500 m adiante. English:  After the magnific beach jam, this week the jam travel to the FMH/Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, at Cruz-Quebrada, within the 4º Encontro dos Licenciados em Dança, and happens on Saturday. We will proceed with the perceptive opening, particularly kinesthetic, visual and aural, progressing from a inner and close relation, into an enlarged and multiple interconnected focus. The perceptive expansion will include the interaction with live sound/music, and real-time images of the jam and other environments. BE WELCOME!!!! Vamos deixar que estes elementos influenciem de forma particular a relação com os nossos corpos em improvisação interpessoal e de grupo.

In this jam we will explore the richness of the sand, rocks, and water contact surfaces at this singular beach, not forgetting the seaweed smell, the sea sound, the sun's colors, light and warmth. We are going to let these elements to influence in particular ways the relation with our bodies in interpersonal and group improvisation.

INVITATION TO HYBRID PARTICIPATORY PERFORMANCE Senses Places @ Contact Improvisation Lisbon Jam Schedule: .5.30-6.30 Facilitated Warm-up (Isabel Valverde) 6.30-7.30 Jam with Life Music (Eduardo Cunha) 7.30-8.30 Hybdrid Jam (Second Life®) Life Music (Eduardo Cunha) AT Fábrica do Braço de Prata AND Second Life SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Koru/233/233/3005 (you need to have or download the SL application and create an avatar) Description This hybrid jam will include Contact Movement/Dance and Sound/Music Improvisation, amongst physical bodies, avatars (Second Life remote participants), and physical bodies and avatars. The keyboard-free mediated interactions will be enabled by real-time video webcast in SL of the physical participants in Lisbon, and Webcam and Wiimote interfacing (software objects to be shared) for physical and remote participants. This initiative continues the ongoing experimental dance-technology collaborative research work from Real Virtual Games through Senses Places/Lugares Sentidos at the CILxJam, towards expanding the physical and physical-virtual interactive engagement by developing Contact and Somatic Movement, Sound, and body-environment climate based interactions via desktop-free alternative modes of embodied interfacing between physical and virtual bodies/avatars and environments (Second Life®). We focus on challenging choreographic/designed relationships amongst participants, with/through their mediated doubles (video image and/or avatar), and with aspects of the converged responsive environments, which would benefit, enrich, bringing agency to embodied subjects within a post-human corporeal condition. We are interested in: - How are we differently affected by interacting with our avatars while seated at the desktop, and/or by actually moving (with) them? Program them to respond according to our wishes? - How can avatar embodied experiences allow a challenge to subjective and inter-subjective/social physical-virtual presence and mobility, other than substituting the physical by the virtual embodiment? - How can the new technological potential also mean a change of mentality? To the participants: Please arrive to the Sense Places SL environment at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Koru/233/233/3005, 5-10 mn earlier in order to acquire the shared animations, and objects for webcam and Wiimote interaction. These are free-software that you can additionally program, changing the animations to include your own. The jam is quite informal and each participant/avatar is invited to interact with each other and the environment in different modes, moving/playing with the shared interfaces and movements. All other modes of interaction/interfacing are welcome, either in alternating, accumulating, integrating, including physical and avatar spatial navigation, gestures, chat and voice, as well as other innovative modes of keyboard-free interaction. Please feel free to experiment with accumulation of moves, the shared and your own. They are of different sorts, from floating in the air, moving body parts in various possible and impossible ways, turning in the air. Be welcome to enjoy other amplified ways of moving and interacting with others and environments. Please share with anyone you think would be interested.
